Inspiration Behind the Sensory Friendly Joggers

Much like our Sensory Friendly Hoodie, our Sensory Friendly Joggers are designed to provide a comfortable and irritation-free clothing option for all kids. The inspiration for these joggers came from recognizing the uniqueness of each child's sensory needs. Some kids prefer open pants, while others find comfort in joggers. We noticed that joggers, with a snug fit that doesn't bunch up or move around, tended to be less irritating for many children.

Designed for Comfort and Convenience

We took great care in designing our Sensory Friendly Joggers with the utmost attention to detail. Informed by individual stories, interviews with autistic adults, educators, and parents, our joggers feature design elements that prioritize comfort and convenience. The pockets are stitched down to ensure the pocket bag doesn't bunch up or move around, keeping the inside of the pants completely flat. The elastic waistband helps kids gain independence by dressing themselves and is stitched down to prevent rolling or bunching, a common source of discomfort in many pants.

We've made sure the waistband is wide and soft, avoiding any digging or irritation. The addition of side pockets was inspired by the feedback from kids and adults who like to carry comfort items or fidgets with them. These spacious pockets are perfect for collecting rocks, carrying favorite toys, or storing personal items. The magnetic closures on the pockets, inspired by our hoodies, serve as a built-in fidget, helping increase focus and attention while providing a sense of security and comfort.

When to Wear It

Our Sensory Friendly Joggers are versatile and suitable to wear for anyone, at any time.
Our version crafted from French Terry material, are comfortable and adaptable throughout the seasons. The loopback material helps regulate body temperature, making them ideal for kids who struggle with temperature regulation. Some have even found them to be their preferred choice during the summer months.
Our fleece version is perfect for cooler months and a cozier experience.
The strategically placed fidget pocket, positioned on the thigh, is easily accessible whether seated at a desk or standing, making them perfect for school and everyday activities.

Why They're Important

Traditional pants, especially those in larger sizes, often feature buttons, flies, and internal elastics with buttons that can be bothersome, especially for sensory-sensitive children. Our elastic waistband and flat design were chosen to ensure not only ease of putting on but also lasting comfort throughout the day. These joggers are designed to move with the wearer, providing comfort during various activities, including jumping on trampolines or swinging.
